The Jabra new offering, the ‘Motion UC’ has dazzled customers with its innovative features and revolutionary technology. It is definitely not stylish but the crisp sound quality and user friendly attributes steal the spotlight. Jabra Motion UC uses Bluetooth for wireless connectivity and taking hands-free calls. The audio quality is quite good. Jabra has made no compromises in presentation, with its rather elaborate packaging. They have designed Motion based on the ‘Behind the Ear’ model.
To make things interesting, Jabra has included software in the headset that announces the caller’s name and Motion Sensor technology. The latter can change headset volume according to the external environment noise (patent pending). ‘Motion’ intuitively answers calls without buttons using the in-built motion sensor. It can recognize voice commands and the voice guidance feature describes pairing instructions, its current status, battery status, etc.
The flip-boom provides wind-noise protection and the Noise Blackout technology blocks the background noise to facilitate proper voice clarity. Motion uses A2DP to stream music, internet radio and other multimedia from your device. Pairing is simple and easy since it uses NFC to connect with just a tap on the headset. In addition to connecting with mobiles and tablets with bluetooth, the USB adapter can be used to link with PCs for taking internet calls and other purposes.
The device offers seven hours of talktime and standby time of fifteen days. A battery saver mode is present for extended use. The range is phenomenal, at 100m (300 feet) for Class I devices (mobile phones not included). Controls include a mute button on the mike that is a handy, a touch-sensitive volume slider and a large button near the speaker, for attending calls.
It includes three gel tips for your ears that are differently shaped instead of the usual different sizes. Also the Motion has speaker height adjustments and ear buds that can be rotated to fit on either ear. While all this is well and good for personalized comfort, the weight of the headset is a bit of a concern.
This premium quality headset is available at a hefty price of $129.99.
