Plantronics BackBeat Go 2 Wireless Hi-Fi Earbud Headphones Review

Plantronics BackBeat Go 2 : best wireless headphones for working out or tv?

If you own a Bluetooth headset, chances are it was manufactured by Plantronics. We know they have some serious expertise in the Bluetooth technology field, but how well will this translate into high end wireless headphones?

Pro’s

Despite being an in ear bud type headphone the sound produced by these headphones was a lot better than I was expecting. Obviously it’s not going to sound as clear or as loud as some of the more expensive headphones we have reviewed, but they aren’t bad.

Very light and portable, my friends said Plantronics BackBeat Go 2 is one of the best wireless headphones for working out ,they will easily slip in your pocket or gym bag do you can enjoy using them whenever you need your music fix.

Con’s

These clever little headphones, due to their size only manage to have 4.5 hours listening time before they require recharging – that should be enough for a film, but if you are watching television it might fall short. That said, they are supplied with a charging pouch, so you can plug them into the charging pouch and the listening time gets extended to over 14 hours.

Not all televisions are Bluetooth enabled, so you may have to purchase a small Bluetooth audio dongle for your TV. They aren’t expensive, but it will add an extra $10 or so onto your order.

Don’t support the higher quality APT-X Bluetooth mode, so if that is an essential feature for you, then these are not the earphones you are looking for.

As mentioned earlier, I’m not a big fan if these ‘in the ear’ style ear buds, as I have small ears and they never seem to fit very well – and this was indeed the case with the BackBeat earphones, even with the smallest rubber cover fitted. I found that my ears were a little sore when using these headphones, and they fell out fairly regularly when I moved my head (I’m guessing they were designed for people with larger ears).

Summary

Even though there does seem to be more “Con’s” than “Pro’s” I’d recommend you to try these earphones out if you wanted a tiny pair of wireless earphones. Granted they aren’t the usual recommendation for headphones to watch television to, but some of you may just be looking for a budget and lightweight option, and these would fit the bill very nicely.

With my personal experience of them being a little ‘ill fitting’ I would recommend you either try before you buy, or buy from someone with a really solid and comprehensive returns policy – such as Amazon. If you don’t get along with them (like me) you can simply print out a return slip and send them back for a full refund. Anyway, it got 3,5 stars with over 1500 reviews from Amazon.com. Try it if you want ????
